Therapy

Cooper House provides both mental health and occupational therapy services.

Our assessment process integrates these two professional disciplines to ensure that we understand a child’s strengths and needs as quickly and completely as possible.  Learn more about why we work this way.

We are looking forward to getting to know you, your child, and their other important caregivers. You are the most important person in your child’s life and your relationship is the foundation of their development; we want to support this relationship so that you both can feel confident and connected.

We will partner with you to create a treatment approach that addresses your goals and integrates what we have discovered together during the assessment.  This is a collaborative process; after all, no one knows your child as well as you do. Some children may be treated by a mental health therapist, occupational therapist, or a combination of the two.

Depending upon the concerns and the age of the child, we might recommend a dyadic approach, where therapist meets with the caregiver(s) and child together, or offer individual child play therapy, along with separate parent support and consultation sessions.

Our goal is to build a relationship with your family where you can benefit from our expertise, research-based assessment tools, and trauma-informed practice.
